Walked in from another dental office which was a few buildings away feeling disappointed. Alexis at the front desk had me seen within 15 minutes after I completed the paperwork. Dr. Hayat, DMD was very welcoming. Had to have a second set of X-rays done due to the first set being sent over from Essence dental that were so blurry which were not readable. Alexis worked with my insurance to bring down the cost of my plan. I was amazed that the staff went out of their way to not only make sure that I was taken care of but also to make sure I wasn’t paying thousands of dollars extra. Disappointing Experience — Unprofessional Attitude and Lack of Consideration

The office itself was nice, and the dental hygienist was kind, but unfortunately, my overall experience was very disappointing because of my interactions with Dr. Hayat and the front desk staff. I have visited other dental offices before and have never felt this uncomfortable or judged.

I have never had a cavity in my life, and my teeth are naturally straight and well-aligned. I understand that having no cavities does not mean there can never be other dental issues, but I expected to be treated with professionalism and respect throughout my appointment.

My biggest issue was being told I needed a more expensive “deluxe” cleaning because of the amount of plaque on my teeth. My insurance covers a basic cleaning, and I arrived expecting to receive that service. I had brushed and flossed that morning, but my appointment was after lunch, so there may have been some food residue or plaque on my teeth by the time I arrived.

When I explained that I had not anticipated the additional expense and did not have that amount of money available, there seemed to be no willingness to discuss alternatives or work with me. Instead, they refused to provide the basic cleaning I had expected to be covered by my insurance. When I questioned the pricing, a front desk employee began pointing out what was supposedly wrong with my teeth rather than professionally addressing my questions about the cost and my options. I felt judged instead of helped.

The front desk employee also made an unnecessary comment asking me, “What’s wrong? You look tired,” while explaining the pricing. I found this strange and inappropriate. Combined with the long wait and the whispering I noticed while waiting, the experience became increasingly uncomfortable.

I was also uncomfortable with how Dr. Hayat repeatedly insisted that removing my wisdom teeth was an absolute must. I understand that wisdom teeth sometimes need to be removed for legitimate medical reasons, but I wanted a clear explanation of why the procedure was necessary in my specific case and what alternatives, if any, were available. I felt pressured rather than adequately informed. For a procedure like tooth extraction, patients deserve to understand the reasoning, risks, and options before making a decision.

To be clear, I understand that dental offices may recommend additional treatment and that some services may not be covered by insurance. My concern is how the situation was handled. I explained that the unexpected cost was not something I had budgeted for, yet I felt dismissed and was not offered a reasonable discussion of my options.

I appreciate that the dental hygienist was kind and that the office itself was pleasant. However, those positives did not make up for the way I felt treated by Dr. Hayat and the front desk staff. Patients deserve respectful communication, transparency about costs, and the opportunity to make informed decisions about their dental care without feeling judged or pressured.

Unfortunately, this experience left me uncomfortable and disappointed. Based on my visit, I would hesitate to return and would not recommend this office based on my personal experience.

I can’t say enough great things about Forney Smiles! Alexis and the entire staff provided truly top tier customer service. I had a broken crown and they went above and beyond by taking me in on a Sunday and even staying open late to make sure I was taken care of.

They got me scheduled promptly, completed all the necessary work perfectly, and were extremely accommodating with my busy work schedule. Everyone was professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure I was comfortable and satisfied.
